Because we all have all of the elements in our bodies we  all have each of the doshas as well .but eveery one of us is born with a unique individual balance of doshas  doshas are   the physiological factors  of the body.

the five basic elements (panchmahabhuts)

how r these elements expressed in our bodies ?

air is inhaleded when we breathe and it pumps the blood through our system to keep us alive .space is in the hollow cavities of our  bodies.and we require space to move around .Fire is the part of our  digestive  systrem that helps to break down the food we eat and burn calories to give us energy.Water composes about two thirds of our bodies and  we need water to survive.Earth is in our  bones and our  vital minerals that keep us healthy.

Ayurveda is not only limied to giving health to ill but is equally important for healthyas it tells us how to maintain our health by preventing disease

Physiology of ayurveda

All matter (including human body) is thought to be composed of five basic elements Panchbhutas which exhibit the properties of earth(prithvi);water(jal);fire(agni)(tejas);wind(vayus and space(akash).

These elements do not exist in isolated forms but always in combination in which one or more dominates.

In humanbody these  element are present in the form of DOSHAS.

VATA PITTA  AND KAPHA

Vata is made up of a combination of air and space.Pitta is a combination of fire and water. kapha is made up of earth and water.

vata regulates movements and is represented by nervous system

pitta is the principle of biotransformation and is  the cause of all metabolic prosess in the body.

kapha is the principle of cohesion and functions through the body fluids.

together these doshas determine the phisiological constitution of an individual.Health is describe as a balance of all three doshas and their imbalance isdisease
